Whether leaving for the honeymoon or simply leaving the reception, the modern bride often changes from her wedding dress into a different outfit for a gorgeous getaway. Since we have a special place in our heart for little white dresses, this is one of our favorite wedding weekend outfits. Here are a few tips for selecting a chic and stylish white dress to make an elegant exit.
Select something versatile - we love lace dresses especially if you're having a destination wedding or if your wedding or honeymoon is in a warm climate. A simple sheath dress is one of our favorites since it can be formal with heels or more casual with flat sandals. We also love the practically of a beautiful lace reception dress that can afterwards be very easily packed into honeymoon luggage, perfect for moonlit strolls along the beach as well as shopping in open air markets.
Select a signature color - choose a beautiful hue in a subtly simple and sophisticated silhouette. One of our go-to's is a stylish sleeveless A line shift dress reminiscent of Jackie. Also doubles as a chic something blue for the practical modern bride.
Select something unforgettable - A third choice is a flirty fit and flare little white dress with chic and flowy satin ribbon straps. This dress may very well have all of your guests reaching for their phones to capture the perfect shot of the couple fashionably fleeing the festivities with the lovely ribbons streaming behind the bride...

White can be symbolic of new beginnings, purity, and the start of a new life together in many cultures. It's also associated with traditional wedding ceremonies in Christianity. The tradition of wearing white wedding gowns has both historical and cultural roots. Queen Victoria is often credited with popularizing the white wedding dress in the 19th century when she married Prince Albert in a white gown. Wondering how to find your perfect fit in wedding gowns? Typically wedding dress sizes can be different from regular clothing sizes. Wedding dress sizing often follows its own set of sizing charts, and may differ from one bridal designer or brand to another. Wedding dress sizes often run smaller than regular clothing sizes, meaning that a bride may need to choose a wedding dress size that is larger than her usual size.
