by Jane Summers

Movie Popcorn in Red and White Striped Box

You've found the best wedding planner and picked out that dress to live a dream in. Now, you more than deserve a break! Grab your gal pals, Twizzlers® and some popcorn. These three can't-miss flicks will reignite your excitement for wedding planning (and provide much needed stress relief!).

27 Dresses

Closet of Bridesmaid Dresses

Katherine Heigl dresses up for just about every type of theme wedding you can imagine in this more-than memorable Rom-Com. Whether you’re looking for a sweet movie that goes great with a glass of wine, a good laugh or the ultimate inspiration, it has a little bit of everything. (Where else would you see a “Gone with the Wind”-worthy petticoat and parasol ensemble?).

My Best Friend’s Wedding

“The moment I wake up, before I put on my makeup….” We know you just finished that lyric, too! Rupert Everett always has us breaking into our best karaoke of “I Say A Little Prayer” by Aretha Franklin. His charm and charisma, Julia Roberts’ spectacular hijacks, the dreamy Dermot Mulroney (think “The Wedding Date”) and Cameron Diaz as the sweet and stylish bride-to-be make this one of our all-time favorites. From the unfortunate ice sculpture incident to the impromptu restaurant serenade, you won’t want to miss re-watching this film. And…how can we not love Cameron Diaz’s sense of style?   Our fashion crush started with our first glimpse of a perfect Marigold shift dress à la Jackie O…We love how stylish Cameron Diaz looked at all of her pre-wedding events.  Check back soon for details about the Jane Summers RTW collection featuring stylish looks perfect for your planning brunches, registry shopping, cake tasting, etc., etc.

Bridesmaids

Pink Butterfly and Pink Flowers

No wedding movie list would be complete without “Bridesmaids”.  This 2011 hit is filled with incredible wit and humor; perfect for a girls’ night in.  We still remember (and maybe dream of) a chic Parisian bridal shower complete with a butterfly invitation, chocolate fountain (did we mention our chocolate habit…) and the ultimate party favor. We would hire Helen as our wedding planner in a heartbeat!

Guess what we’ll be doing this weekend…and with the Oscars just around the corner, check back soon for some gorgeous red carpet inspiration.

Happy (almost) Friday!
