Chocolate and roses are one way to our hearts, but...we also have an idea or two for unique ways to indulge your valentine with a Valentine's Day experience the two of you will never forget.
Start the day with an unforgettable experience. One of our favorites? A hot air balloon ride. When you're in love, it feels like you're floating on cloud nine. And at thousands of feet above the ground, you just might be! Soak in the sun and a gorgeous view of the city you two love with a trip above the trees.

Stay the night in a grand manor or castle! While the U.S. has a lack of kings and queens, we are in no shortage of breathtaking estates. One of our favorites is the Biltmore in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. Celebrate this love-filled day by seemingly taking a step back in time and giving your spouse the royal treatment. Whether you prefer an onsite winery, a gorgeous garden, an indulgent spa or a remarkable culinary experience, an enchanting stay at an historic inn or estate featuring any of these will ensure that this Valentine's Day weekend tops any you've had before.

This Valentine's Day Weekend is a perfect time to visit the Biltmore if you're planning a wedding. Long known as a lovely location for weddings and romantic getaways, the estate will be debuting a new costume exhibition highlighting love stories from iconic films. Fashionable Romance: Wedding Gowns in Film, presented by Belk, showcases wedding dresses and attire from both major motion pictures as well as family heirlooms spanning centuries of design. The gown pictured above, worn by Gwyneth Paltrow in "Emma" will be on display as will gowns featured in "Sense and Sensibility". Complementing the various film eras will be awe-worthy floral designs created by the Biltmore's Floral Design Team. And be sure to stop by the Chocolate Social at the Inn on Saturday to sample their delicious hot chocolate and chocolate candies.

And lastly, as your Valentine's Day is winding down, end the evening with a toast to your romance in the ultimate natural setting. Whether you are in the middle of a roaring city or relaxing in a charming rural area, there's nothing quite as romantic as stargazing with your sweetheart…a day at the local planetarium or a midnight picnic sounds perfect.
Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you choose one of these ideas or have something else planned, we hope it's an enchanting day filled with magic, romance and love.

White can be symbolic of new beginnings, purity, and the start of a new life together in many cultures. It's also associated with traditional wedding ceremonies in Christianity. The tradition of wearing white wedding gowns has both historical and cultural roots. Queen Victoria is often credited with popularizing the white wedding dress in the 19th century when she married Prince Albert in a white gown.
