LORI CUNNINGHAM
FOUNDER/CREATIVE DIRECTOR, JANE SUMMERS

New York City based American fashion designer, Lori Cunningham, Founder and Creative Director of Jane Summers, continues to redefine the Little White Dress. Although formally trained as a printmaker prior to pursuing her passion for design, Cunningham has been designing and sewing since childhood.

Recognized by the Knot as a Designer to Watch and featured in Brides and PopSugar, Cunningham is known for her fresh and sophisticated aesthetic and her contemporary interpretation of classic silhouettes. Passionate about luxe fabrics, modern silhouettes and couture-inspired details, Cunningham infuses each collection with Jane Summers' hallmark motto Live stylishly. Dress up. Wear white.

Cunningham, who today lives in Manhattan, grew up in West Virginia where she learned from her two grandmothers the craftsmanship and detail that define skilled dressmaking. Cunningham attended design school in Virginia not far from the Greenbrier Resort and has a special place in her heart for Dorothy Draper’s spirited designs for the Greenbrier. Following graduation Cunningham moved to New York to pursue her dream of working in the fashion industry and worked with Tommy Hilfiger where she fine tuned her appreciation for and attention to detail while also immersing herself in emerging fashion trends during her travels in Europe and Asia.

Not long after leaving Tommy, Cunningham debuted Jane Summers, the namesake of her two grandmothers, a chic collection of sophisticated little white dresses designed to stylishly carry the modern bride to and through all of her wedding parties and celebrations from bridal showers and engagement parties to rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.
